A REALTOR® is a licensed real estate agent that is also a member of the National Association of REALTORS®. In order to be a member of the National Association of REALTORS® the agent must agree to follow a strict Code of Ethics and abide by a set Standard of Practice. It is not required that a licensed agent be a REALTOR® and those agents that choose not to are not accountable to the Code of Ethics.
The National Association of REALTORS® was founded in 1908 in Chicago, Illinois and has grown to be the largest trade organization in the world. The association is over 1 Million strong and each of those members is part of one of the over 1,400 local boards. There are two local boards that the Ramos & Associates team at Re/Max Alliance REALTORS® are members of: The Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® (GAAR) and the Santa Fe Association of REALTORS® (SFAR) We are proud to be called REALTORS® and all that the organization represents. Along with the National Association of REALTORS® our goal is to promote professional development and the exchange of information between our members and the public in order to preserve the right we have as Americans to own real property within our free enterprise system.
