I have worked with many realtors in NM, Illinois, Tennessee, and Colorado, and Kevin has been by far the best.  Because we wanted to both buy and sell a home, it was important to hire a realtor who had expertise in both.  Kevin came to our home to meet with us and spent an hour interviewing us to learn what we wanted and was able to offer a great deal of knowledgeable advice concerning types of homes, what it would cost to make particular kinds of changes, and really helped us to understand what our options were.  
When it came time to look at homes, he was very efficient in lining up all the ones we were considering so that we could see them all in one afternoon.  He helped us evaluate each home, offering his perspective on the strengths and weaknesses of each, which really helped us to view them objectively.  Once we settled on a home, he negotiated a good price for us, and the purchase went very smoothly.  
It was on the selling side, however, that Kevin really showed his expertise as a realtor.  Selling a home can be very complicated and stressful, but Kevin made it as stress-free as possible.  He helped us evaluate the condition of our home and made suggestions for minor repairs that could increase its salability.  He even did some minor touchup of the stucco himself, so as to save us from having to hire someone to do the job.  He was always present when we were asking for bids for repair work to be done, and the house painters he recommended to us did an exceptional job.  He also did a wonderful job of photographing our home to make it look as appealing as possible.
He was able to find us a buyer within a month, and once again negotiations went very smoothly under his skillful handling.  Kevin saved us from having to pay for some expensive repairs requested by the buyer by going to the trouble of having an electrician come in and test the load and show that an upgrade to the electrical system was unnecessary.  I probably would have relented on that point, but Kevin stuck to his guns and saved us thousands of dollars.
It is clear that Kevin really enjoys what he does, and genuinely enjoys helping his clients without regard to the amount of money to be made at the end.  Even though there was less money to be made from the sale of our home than our purchase, Kevin worked just as hard if not harder on the sales end of things.  I genuinely appreciated the level of confidence and trust that we were able to build in our relationship with Kevin, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others (as we already have).

Kevin assisted us in locating and purchasing our second home. We were looking for an investment property and he had great knowledge on this type of property. Prior to our visiting Albuquerque from out of town to look for a home, my wife looked up real estate agents and emailed a number of them to make an appointment to show us houses. Kevin Ramos was the only one who answered her email, and the on-line reviews of Kevin were good, so we worked with him. Kevin is friendly, very communicative by email and phone, responsive to our questions and concerns, flexible with scheduling house visits, and he made time to be available within our schedule. He showed us essentially all of the houses that we wanted to see, and when we made a choice to make an offer,
he provided drafts of the offer by email, and when we settled on the final version, he used an electronic system for us to sign the documents. This was an effective and efficient mechanism to review the offers and counteroffers. Since
we were out of town during the purchase process, Kevin arranged for the home inspections, attended the inspections for us and worked with the sellers to have the necessary repairs done. Kevin also recommended a mortgage
loan consultant to get a mortgage.  After closing, it took us several months to move to the new house, and Kevin took care of things at the house for us (watering outside plants, etc.). After we moved in, Kevin showed us the special things that the
seller explained to him about house care. We offered Kevin a tip for handling these things for us, but he refused. To sum up, Kevin Ramos is a very effective agent who knows the Albuquerque market and worked hard in our behalf. Kevin sold my current house and helped me to find a new house that met my criteria.        
I told Kevin upon first contact that I was considering moving, but was still not sure about this.  He came to my home and presented statistics of sales of other homes in my area to give me an idea of how much I could get for my house.  He was willing to take me to look at other houses that met my criteria so that I would know what was out there and whether I could get a better home in my price range.  This was without a commitment on my part as to whether I would put my house up for sale.  I thought this was very generous.  My first (and continuing) impression of Kevin is of a very pleasant and positive person who listens to what his clients want and don't want, and who truly cares about helping us meet our needs.  He isn't just out to make a commission.  I believe that he enjoys working with people and making people happy.  I decided to put my house up for sale.  Kevin came over and took his own pictures of the house.  These pictures were of professional quality, and made my house look wonderful.  He put my home on various internet sites so that it would be well advertised.  Kevin listened to my concerns about the whole process of having my house on the market (which was stressful for me) and took steps to solve problems and make the experience easier for me.  We went out frequently to see other homes that I might move into.  It turned out that my house sold quickly and I had still not found a new home.  Kevin made time to quickly bring me to houses that I wanted to look at, so that I would be more likely to find a new house before I had to leave the old one.  In addition, he negotiated  a contract that allowed me to stay in my old home past the closing date so that I wouldn't be under pressure to buy a house that I didn't really want in order to move in time.  Kevin knows a great deal about houses and was able to spot problems in the houses I might want to buy. He  knew what  repairs would be necessary, and how much these repairs would cost.  This was extremely helpful.  I learned a lot about houses and what goes into repairs.  I also enjoyed looking at houses with Kevin - He was always cheerful, and he has a great sense of humor!  I never felt pressured to settle on a house  - Kevin truly wanted to help me find the right one.  I found a house I really liked.  The house did need some minor repairs, and I wanted to do a little re-decorating.  Kevin has a lot of resources in the community and he recommended a contractor who did excellent work, did the work promptly (before I moved in), and like Kevin, was very pleasant to deal with.  Kevin is very detail oriented, and he has an amazing memory.  He's extremely efficient.  He returns all phone calls and emails.  He CARES and is not just out to make money!

First of all let me sum this up in 4 words....

Being a mortgage lender myself I know the ins and outs of the business.  Kevin is by far one of the most knowledgeable professionals I have ever seen in the business.  At our first meeting he was prompt, courteous and came with the detailed plan that I asked him for to sell our home.  I asked Kevin some very hard questions and had skepticism about hiring a realtor because of previous bad experiences. Kevin answered all my questions and was able to provide with with a timeline for the sale and a plan of action. Needless to say I was impressed.  Within the first week of listing we had a ton of showings but unfortunately not one offer.  He called me EVERY WEEK to provide status updates and recommendations for me to close this deal.  I have never had a realtor to do this and again I was totally impressed. After finding the great ratings Kevin had, we interviewed him and another agent, and "hired" him to sell our house.
We have bought and sold several houses over the years, and Kevin is without a doubt the best agent we've ever hired. He was very clear about what he thought we needed to do to maximize the impression our home would make, and he was realistic about the listing price. After following his suggestions re. staging the house even more than it already was, we signed his listing contract on a Thursday. He had the sign up and the MLS listing active on Friday. The house sold at full price on Saturday at exactly what was subsequently the appraisal figure.   Then he followed through doing an excellent job of negotiating the contract, and explaining all the steps all the way through closing. It was a totally trouble free transaction. He was great in answering our questions, making sure we got the best offer possible, following through, answering our calls and emails. I will say, we were open to Kevin's suggestions re staging the house. A clean, well maintained, uncluttered appearance is critical to getting the highest possible price for your home. If you're not willing to do the work to make it appealing, it would not be fair to blame the agent if it doesn't sell as fast as ours did.

Kevin Ramos took over the sale of our home after six months of going nowhere with another agent. The experience was great! I needed an experienced Realtor to sell the house I inherited. I live in Texas so I wanted someone familiar with working with an out of state client. I also required a "best in class" realtor which Kevin certainly was. In our first meeting I found he was actually  a Qualifying Broker and he has experience as an appraiser. I was glad to see he is associated with REMAX. In the past I have found REMAX is the brokerage where the better and more experienced agents are. I have seen other groups that are essentially realtor training grounds for agents with only a year or two of sales. Kevin provided good comparables and offered advice on improvements. He gave me the name of a flooring company that worked out very well.
There was good interest in the house the first week of the listing. An offer was made only 6 days after listing. We went through several counter offers before a final agreement was signed. Kevin set me up with an easy way to electronically sign the counter offers and other docs from Texas. The final price was pretty close to what the comparables indicated, about $105 per sq ft.. Kevin picked an excellent escrow officer to do the closing. I was surprised we could actually close as fast as we did - in about 5 weeks.
Kevin added more value beyond regular realtor duties. While I was in Texas he found people to buy some of my furniture. Kevin also has a trusted licensed contractor he works with so I did not need to be at the house for repairs. Kevin even offered to bring his truck and trailer to clean out the last items in the house if needed. I offered to compensate Kevin for all the unexpected and valued extra work but he refused saying "it is just part of the package".
Overall the selling experience was excellent. This was one of those sales with few issues but if there were any big ones, I have no doubt Kevin would have quickly resolved them.

Kevin Ramos gave us accurate information about the likely selling price of our house, listed it, promptly prepared excellent internet and print advertising, and worked diligently with the agents of interested buyers.    The house was listed in September and about one month after Kevin listed our house a cash offer was made, and  less than two months after listing, the sale was made and the new buyers moved in.    Before finding Kevin another well-known real estate agent had the listing for the best months -- the springtime and summer -- but  there were very few showings and no interest.    By September we were worried the house would not sell until the middle of next year.  Kevin brought in new energy and a new plan, and immediately after meeting him we decided to list with Kevin.  Kevin researched house prices and explained we needed to lower the price, which we did.   Kevin designed a great internet listing and a beautiful brochure to leave in the house for viewers, and when someone viewed the house, he followed up with their agents.  About a month after listing, Kevin had a cash offer.  Kevin helped with resolving the inspection issues and we closed just a few weeks later.  I give Kevin an A+, especially when comparing him to the other realtor, who is well-known and has been in business for decades.   Kevin is not discouraged by today's housing market, is energetic and optimistic, as well as professional and courteous.

From the time we put the land on the market to the time it sold was under a month!! I manage my daughter's rental house and was installing a new Air Conditioner on the roof.  I knew realtors sometimes do a market analysis on your home when you're interested in selling.  I thought I'd see if I could get the analysis to make sure we had the correct sq footage on the home so the air conditioner was the right size.  I didn't want to waste Kevin's time so I told him exactly why I wanted the analysis.  He was so personable over the phone, took time to answer questions, gave me information that was very helpful and did not rush me at all. To top it off, he is educated in appraisal which can save you money on your house when he lists it (you know it's measured right).  He graciously agreed to come measure the house and also gave me tips on how to improve the home to increase it's value.  He did not charge me for the service but believe me, if I do sell in the future, I will definitely call him.  The house measured 26 sq ft larger which doesn't seem like much but at $145/sq foot (what we paid in 2006)  means the seller lost approx $3800.00.  That could pay partial closing costs, or points for some people.  We had problems with the brokerage firm we used when we bought the home and now the broker is in jail (not from our case but from his dishonesty with others.)  I wish I had known about Kevin Ramos when we bought the house all the problems could have been avoided.  I used to have my real estate license and am not up on the current market. situations but after this experience, I certainly will call him when I need to sell my home.  I was very impressed with his knowledge and demeanor!  All in all a great experience for me!  If you use him, I think you will be very pleased.

Kevin Ramos was the realtors that we selected for the sale of our mother's home.  During the initial walk-through, Kevin gave honest feedback about opportunities on the property that would improve the sale of the home as well as the real estate business.   Working within a restricted budget, Kevin was able to develop a plan that was reasonable and helped facilitate the work.  Work items included yard work, internal painting and wall repairs,  flooring replacement, appliance and fixture replacements.  This was completed prior to placing the house on the market.
