Driving east away from Albuquerque you soon notice the number of cars and buildings decreasing and the amount of forest increasing. Tijeras is set in the Cibola National Forest and is a great home for anyone who wants extra land and the adventure of the forest.
The small village welcomes its visitors with plenty of outdoor activities: hiking or horseback riding on one of the many trails, rock climbing, hunting, biking and much more! The Cibola National Forest website provides maps and extra information on the recreations available. The Tijeras historical pueblo is another place to explore and learn from. If you need an exercise break shopping and coffee drinking can be had at the Just Imagine Gallery.
Tijeras is an excellent place for growing families. Homes are available with plenty of acreage including the surrounding forest. Kids have a continual source of amusement with all the fun the forest offers. The students of Tijeras attend schools in the Albuquerque School District. More information about the district can be found at www.aps.edu.
The village has its own fire station and takes care of the snow covered main roads in the winter. It’s also a convenient 22 minute distance from Albuquerque according to MapQuest.
Find your home in the East Mountains and enjoy the quiet surroundings and excellent views.
